On 5 November 2018, the Committee on Budgets adopted the interim report on the multiannual financial framework (MFF) 2021-2027 and own resources, prepared by the co-rapporteurs, Jan Olbrycht (EPP), Isabelle Thomas (S&D), Janusz Lewandowski (EPP) and Gérard Deprez (ALDE).

The interim report outlines Parliament's priorities for the next MFF, including explicit figures for the MFF ceilings and for each of the sector-specific programmes for the period 2021-2027 as well as changes to the draft legal texts tabled by the Commission. It also sets out Parliament's requests regarding a new system of own resources. The report was adopted in plenary on 14 November 2018.
