Scientific and academic culture to counter radicalism and fake news
ASP 1G3
The CULT Committee held a public hearing on the “Scientific and academic culture to counter radicalism and fake news”.
Fake news - and the accompanying problem of political radicalisation - are among the most disquieting and pressing challenges of today. One of the key issues addressed during the hearing were the options for avoiding public opinion being manipulated and steered by what is euphemistically described as "alternative truth". In particular, the five experts invited to the hearing examined how to meet the challenges of fake news through science and academia.
