EU-Bosnia and Herzegovina Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA)
The "Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, of the other part" was signed in Luxembourg on16 June 2008 and enetered into force on 1 June 2015.
Article 121 of the Agreement establishes a Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC) -- "a forum for Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and of the European Parliament to meet and exchange views" -- and describes how the Committee functions.
The SAA upgrades EU-Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) relations by establishing of a dedicated institutional framework. The agreement should increase the confidence of investors, domestic and international in the country. It allows both Bosnian companies and EU companies to access their respective markets. This is conducive to enhanced business opportunities for both EU- and Bosnia and Herzegovina-based companies, and to economic growth and employment.
