Reports - as rapporteur

A rapporteur is appointed in the responsible parliamentary committee to draft a report on proposals of a legislative or budgetary nature, or other issues. In drafting their report, rapporteurs may consult with relevant experts and stakeholders. They are also responsible for the drafting of compromise amendments and negotiations with shadow rapporteurs. Reports adopted at committee level are then examined and voted on in plenary. Rule 55

'Erasmus': the Union programme for education, training, youth and sport (A8-0111/2019 - Milan Zver)

28-03-2019

Erasmus+ seeks to support education, training, youth and sport across Europe. Those who participate in Erasmus+ are able to study, train, and gain experience abroad. This programme facilitates growth, jobs, social equity and inclusion with a strategic framework in education and training.
Currently the programme is having low success rates, which risks losing applicants and threatens the value of Erasmus+. An increase in the budget would allow for greater focus on education and schools. It is equally important to facilitate higher inclusion and provide grants to those who do not have as many opportunities to participate in Erasmus+.
Erasmus+ is beneficial to Europeans due to its initiatives in reducing unemployment, promoting adult learning, and encouraging cooperation. The above mentioned are only a handful as to what Erasmus+ provides, its continuation will overall be helpful in seeking sustainable development amongst Member States and Europeans.

Resources for the specific allocation for the Youth Employment Initiative (A8-0085/2019 - Iskra Mihaylova)

27-03-2019

The Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) aims to aid young people who are not in education, employment, or training and those who are unemployed long-term or are not registered job seekers. YEI seeks to support young people who live in areas where unemployment is higher than 25% in 2012. Funds were then increased in 2017 to aid regions where youth unemployment was higher than 25% in the past year.
On February 1 2019, the Commission submitted a proposal to amend the current Common Provisions Regulations (CPR) concerning funding for YEI in 2019. YEI received a EUR 116,7 million increase, bringing the budget for YEI to EUR 350 million in 2019. Without the amendment to CPR, the budget for 2019 would not be implemented.
The increased funding would allow for further support of YEI’s programmes, such as apprenticeships, traineeships, job placement, and further education leading to a qualification. I believe young people living in these regions deserve our support to secure a bright future.

Veterinary medicinal products (A8-0046/2016 - Françoise Grossetête) RO

25-10-2018
