Reports - as rapporteur

A rapporteur is appointed in the responsible parliamentary committee to draft a report on proposals of a legislative or budgetary nature, or other issues. In drafting their report, rapporteurs may consult with relevant experts and stakeholders. They are also responsible for the drafting of compromise amendments and negotiations with shadow rapporteurs. Reports adopted at committee level are then examined and voted on in plenary. Rule 55

Opinions - as rapporteur

Committees may draft an opinion to a report of the responsible committee covering the elements linked to their committee remit. Le système d’information Schengen II (SIS II) a pour objet de permettre aux États membres de l’espace Schengen de mettre en place une politique commune de contrôle des entrées au sein de cet espace et, ainsi, de faciliter la libre circulation de leurs ressortissants tout en préservant l’ordre et la sécurité publics.
L’évaluation réalisée en 2016 par la Commission a démontré que la Croatie avait la capacité politique, juridique et technique pour intégrer progressivement cet espace, le pays disposant désormais d’un niveau satisfaisant de protection des données.
La Croatie pourra ainsi exploiter le SIS pour permettre une meilleure coopération policière avec les États membres et les pays associés, dans la recherche des personnes poursuivies pour activités criminelles, des personnes disparues, et d’objets disparus comme des voitures ou des documents volés.

Le scandale des prothèses mammaires PIP en France a mis en lumière les lacunes du système européen de contrôle des dispositifs médicaux.
Avec la révision de ce système, les dispositifs médicaux présentant des risques car destinés à être implantés dans le corps humain, à l’image des prothèses mammaires, seront dorénavant contrôlés par des organismes spécialisés. L’accès aux données cliniques de ces dispositifs permettra donc une meilleure surveillance du marché. Si un incident se produit dans un État, un système d’alerte permettra une réaction rapide dans les autres pays européens. Quant aux dispositifs de diagnostic in vitro, ils verront également leurs règles de sécurité renforcées par la mise en place, notamment, d’un comité d’éthique.
Ces nouvelles mesures permettront de restaurer la confiance des consommateurs dans le secteur, tout en préservant sa capacité d’innovation.
