Tackling the challenges of the EU Customs Code (UCC) implementation (B8-0024/2017)
I voted to support the European Parliament resolution on updating the implementation of the Union Customs Code. Robust customs processes are vital to underpin fair and free trade, but where they are overly complex they are particularly detrimental to small and medium enterprises.
Digitisation gives an opportunity to simplify the bureaucracy. EU countries have agreed to modernise our customs process for the digital age, and it is vital that this work is completed and that process systems are interlinked and interoperable.
