EP votes on the new European Commission
MEPs decide today whether to approve the new European Commission led by Jean-Claude Juncker.
From 29 September to 20 October, EP committees questioned all candidate commissioners during three-hour long hearings to assess their competence.

On 22 October, president-elect Juncker presents his team of commissioners to the Parliament and discussed the incoming Commisison's working programme with MEPs.
After the debate, MEPs vote whether to approve or reject the European Commission as a whole. If elected, the new Commission starts its five-year term on 1 November.
