La Comisión Europea revisó la normativa correspondiente de la UE y propuso cambios al objeto de racionalizar los diferentes regímenes de inspección existentes. La presente propuesta forma parte de una iniciativa para modernizar la legislación en materia de seguridad de pasajeros de la UE y reducir la carga administrativa, manteniendo al mismo tiempo un alto nivel de seguridad marítima.
