This introductory briefing paper introduce five key messages on how the Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and Creative Europe (CE) programmes (and the proposals for successor programmes) address environmental challenges.

Siekdama skatinti judumą ir tarpkultūrinį supratimą, ES nurodė, kad kalbų mokymasis yra svarbus prioritetas, ir finansuoja daugybę šios srities programų bei projektų. ES nuomone, daugiakalbystė – svarbus Europos konkurencingumo aspektas. Taigi vienas iš ES kalbų politikos tikslų yra siekti, kad kiekvienas Europos Sąjungos pilietis mokėtų ne tik savo gimtąją kalbą, bet ir dar dvi kitas kalbas.

Jaunimo politika – nacionalinės politikos sritis. Taigi valstybių narių teisės aktai nederinami. Europos lygmeniu sprendimai dėl jaunimo politikos priimami taikant įprastą teisėkūros procedūrą. Jaunimo mainai ES viduje ir su trečiosiomis šalimis skatinami pagal programos „Erasmus+“ jaunimo veiklai skirtą dalį.

Whilst commonly understood, "youth" is a difficult concept to define from a policy-making perspective. Nevertheless in the eyes of national governments and European leaders, youth policy has grown increasingly important in recent years.

In the EU Member States there are more than 50 million young people aged between 15 and 25. It is the Member States which are main responsible for the area of youth.
