Kohēzijas fonds
Kohēzijas fondu izveidoja 1994. gadā, pamatojoties uz Padomes Regulu (EK) 1164/94, un tas finansē projektus vides un Eiropas komunikāciju tīkla jomā. Kopš 2007. gada to atļauts izmantot arī projektu atbalstam jomās, kas saistītas ar ilgtspējīgu attīstību, piemēram, energoefektivitātes un atjaunojamās enerģijas jomā.
Eiropas komunikāciju tīklu finansēšana
Eiropas komunikāciju tīklus (TEN) daļēji finansē Eiropas Savienība un daļēji dalībvalstis. Savienības finansiālais atbalsts ir uzskatāms par katalizatoru, tomēr dalībvalstīm jānodrošina lielākā atbalsta daļa. TEN finansējumu var papildināt arī struktūrfondu un Eiropas Investīciju bankas (EIB) atbalsts vai privātā sektora ieguldījumi. 2013. gadā izveidojot Eiropas infrastruktūras savienošanas instrumentu, visos TEN tika veikta vērienīga reforma.
