Pristojnosti Evropske unije na področju športa so razmeroma nove, saj so bile pridobljene šele z začetkom veljavnosti Lizbonske pogodbe decembra 2009. EU je pristojna za razvoj z dokazi podprte politike, pa tudi za spodbujanje sodelovanja in upravljanje pobud v podporo telesni dejavnosti in športu po vsej Evropi. V okviru programa Erasmus+ je bila v obdobju 2014–2020 prvič na voljo posebna proračunska vrstica, iz katere se zagotavlja podpora projektom in mrežam na področju športa.

Kultura

Dejavnosti Evropske unije na področju kulture dopolnjujejo kulturne politike držav članic na različnih področjih, med katere sodijo ohranjanje evropske kulturne dediščine, sodelovanje kulturnih ustanov različnih držav in spodbujanje mobilnosti ustvarjalcev na področju kulture. Na ta sektor vplivajo tudi določbe Pogodb, ki se ne nanašajo izrecno na kulturo.

Avdiovizualna in medijska politika

Avdiovizualna politika v EU je urejena s členoma 167 in 173 Pogodbe o delovanju Evropske unije (PDEU). Glavni zakonodajni dokument na tem področju je Direktiva o avdiovizualnih medijskih storitvah, ki je bila leta 2018 pregledana. Glavni instrument EU za pomoč temu sektorju, zlasti filmu, je sklop MEDIA v okviru programa Ustvarjalna Evropa. Listina o temeljnih pravicah Evropske unije določa, da se spoštujeta svoboda in pluralnost medijev.

Komunikacijska politika

Potreba po učinkoviti komunikaciji je pravno utemeljena z Listino Evropske unije o temeljnih pravicah (v nadaljnjem besedilu: listina), ki vsem državljanom zagotavlja pravico, da so obveščeni o zadevah EU. Institucije EU so razvile več orodij in storitev, da so lahko v stiku z javnostjo in jo obveščajo. Evropska državljanska pobuda vse od uvedbe leta 2012 državljanom omogoča, da se bolj neposredno vključujejo v pripravo nove zakonodaje in zadeve EU.

Cultural and creative sectors (CCS) have been hit hard by the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study analyses the so far effects of the crisis on the CCS, as well as the policy responses that are formulated to support the sectors. Based on the analysis, policy recommendations are formulated to further improve the resilience of the CCS in Europe in the medium and longer term.
