The European Commission has proposed to mobilise €345 000 for technical assistance to the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF). The European Parliament’s Committee on Budgets backs this proposal, underlining that the EGF can be used to support permanently dismissed workers and the self-employed in the context of the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Parliament is expected to vote on this proposal during the June plenary session.

The coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) is having a major negative impact on employment. As part of the EU’s response to the crisis, the European Commission has proposed the creation of SURE, a temporary instrument to complement national efforts to protect employees and the self-employed from the risk of unemployment and loss of income. Ömsesidigt erkännande av examensbevis

Etableringsfriheten och friheten att tillhandahålla tjänster är hörnstenar för den inre marknaden och underlättar rörligheten för företag och yrkesutövare i hela EU. Genomförandet av dessa friheter förutsätter ett allmänt erkännande av nationellt utfärdade examensbevis och yrkeskvalifikationer. Olika åtgärder för harmonisering och ömsesidigt erkännande av examensbevis och yrkeskvalifikationer har antagits och ytterligare lagstiftning på området är på gång.

Enligt fördraget om Europeiska unionens funktionssätt, förstärkt av rättspraxisen i Europeiska unionens domstol, garanterar etableringsfriheten och friheten att tillhandahålla tjänster företags och yrkesutövares rörlighet inom EU. Vad gäller det vidare genomförandet av dessa två friheter är förväntningarna höga på tjänstedirektivet, antaget 2006, eftersom det har avgörande betydelse för fullbordandet av den inre marknaden.
