Media advisory: European election days
This media advisory presents all relevant information, timing and services available to the media during the election days and during election night on 26 May.
Timeframe for publishing election data on Sunday, 26 May
Parliament will publish national estimates from 18:00 and deliver the first projection of seats in the new Parliament at 20:15, based on available national data. Seat projections will be updated throughout the night, as estimates and official results come in from member states, with provisional global results expected at about 23:15.

From Thursday, 23 May onwards, footage from around the EU of European Parliament, European Commission and European Council presidents, EP groups’ leaders, lead candidates and citizens casting their votes will be made available on the multimedia centre, Europe by Satellite and on the Hemicycle’s screens. Projections and results will be available in broadcast-quality graphic animations.

Journalists who wish to attend election days at the European Parliament must hold a special accreditation, to be requested online, including inter-institutional badge holders. Special accreditation for the election evening of 26 May will cover the whole period of 23-27 May.
The accreditation deadline has been extended. All requests that have already been submitted remain valid. All applicants will receive a confirmation of their request’ validation by e-mail in due time. They can also check the status of the request online, through the same e-registration system.

To avoid queues on Sunday 26 May, special accreditations can be collected from 20 May at Parliament’s media accreditation office in Brussels, Paul-Henri Spaak building, Rue Wiertz.

Media working spaces
Working spaces (approx. 1000 places): Hemicycle (PHS3A50), Press Room (PHS0B01), Anna Politkovskaya (PHS0A50) and Anna Lindh (PHS1A02).
All press working areas will receive results in real-time, projected onto screens and published on www.election-results.eu.
All press officers will be available in a special newsroom for media enquiries on election night (Yehudi Menuhin space).
Access to parking on election night
A number of parking spaces will be available for journalists with the special accreditation badge, on a first-come first-served basis.
Bar and canteen opening hours on Sunday 26 May
Visitors’ self-service restaurant (PHS level -1): open 12.00-22.00 with warm food offer.
Organic Food Corner, Les Filles (ASP, ground floor) open 15.00-22.00 with warm food offer.
Hemicycle Bar (PHS 3rd floor) open 10.00-24.00 with cold food offer.
Press bar (ground floor PHS) - open 10.00-24.00 with cold food offer.
