With suitable modifications of monetary policy strategy, and better use of the authority delegated to it, the ECB could greatly improve its success in fulfilling its mandate. This study, provided by Policy Department A at the request of the committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON), examines the ECB's mandate and the unique challenges it faces. Based on this analysis, it recommends that recent, temporary corrections lead to permanent adjustments to the ECB’s monetary policy strategy.

The eCommerce Directive has played an important role in the digital economy and online information environment. Now it is being applied in a completely changed context. This study addresses automated filtering of online content. It introduces automated filtering of user-generated materials and presents the filtering technologies deployed to different types of media. It also discusses the main critical issues under the present legal framework and proposals for a future Digital Services Act.

The study aims to provide data and related analysis on the topic of operating budgetary balance, its failures and limitations and to deliver evidence of the positive outcomes. When assessing the benefits Member States receive from the European Union budget, they primarily focus on their individual net positions, i.e. the net balance between their national contributions and the transfers received from the EU budget.
