EMPL meeting 28-29 October 2020

At its meeting on 28-29 October 2020, the EMPL Committee will vote on the questions for oral answer and the motion for a resolution on the proposal for a Council Recommendation on vocational education and training. Members will hold an exchange of views with Commissioner Schmit on fair minimum wages for workers in the EU.
In the framework of the European Gender Equality Week, Ms Mollard from the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) will make a presentation on placing care at the heart of the EU's recovery efforts.
Further items on the EMPL agenda include: the hearing of the candidate for the post of the Executive Director of the European Labour Authority (ELA); consideration of a question for oral answer and a motion for a resolution on the European Skills Agenda as well as consideration of amendments to the draft report on a strong social Europe for Just Transitions and to the draft report on the right to disconnect.
