On 19th of February, from 14:30 to 17:00, two panels shed light on the complex issues of fifth generation wireless mobile standard (5G), taking on board the experience gathered from ongoing 5G trials across the European Union.

The hearing also addressed the question on how different technologies, such as ubiquitous sensors, small cells, space technologies and artificial intelligence applications combine to create new services and to significantly enhance the user experience for communications, applications, digital content and e-commerce.
The hearing also tackled the issue of barriers and difficulties in 5G rollout within the scope of latest EUs regulatory framework. Finally, the hearing allowed understanding how 5G, as enabler of very highspeed connectivity, can unlock the world of AI.
