On 6 July 2020 LIBE Members exchanged views concerning the Greek/Turkish border and respect for fundamental rights with Ylva Johansson, Commissioner for Home Affairs, Michalis Chrisochoidis, Minister of Citizen protection (Greece), Notis Mitarachi, Minister of Migration and Asylum (Greece) and with Fabrice Leggeri, Executive Director Frontex and Minos Mouzourakis, Legal Officer at Refugee Support Aegean (RSA).

Following a similar exchange in April on the situation in Greece, touching on border and migration management, as well as asylum procedures and relocation, this debate was more focused on the situation at the Greek/Turkish border at land and sea, and how fundamental rights notably the right to asylum as also enshrined in the EU Charter on fundamental rights are impacted.
