Exchange of views with Helena Dalli, Commissioner for Equality

Despite gains for the LGBT community in Europe, a recent survey has found that alarming numbers continue to suffer discrimination, harassment or sometimes worse.

The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs held in its meeting of 11 June an exchange of views with Helena Dalli, Commissioner for Equality on the anti-discrimination policy in times of COVID-19, in particular on the situation of LGBTI. In this exchange the Commission wanted to enhance anti -discrimination policy, including as regards the Horizontal Directive on Anti -Discrimination and other aspects linked to advancing equality within EU will be also tackled.
