EMPL meeting on 1st October 2020

During the EMPL meeting on 1st October, several reports and opinions were put to the vote: the reports on "Amending Regulation (EU) No 223/2014" (which is the second amendment to the FEAD Regulation) and on "Employment and social policies of the euro area 2020" and the opinions on "Strengthening the Single Market: the future of free movement of services", on "A new strategy for European SMEs" and on the EU budget for next year.
The opinion on the mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for the Galicia shipbuilding ancillary sectors was also voted. The agenda also contained the consideration of the draft report "Old continent growing older - possibilities and challenges related to ageing policy post 2020" and of oral questions to the Council and the Commission and a related draft motion for a resolution on the Proposal for a Council Recommendation on vocational education and training. Moreover, the amendments tabled to the opinion on "Establishing a Recovery and Resilience Facility" and to the draft report on "Access to decent and affordable housing for all" were discussed.
