Kuulemiset

Valiokunta voi kuulla asiantuntijoita, jos se katsotaan välttämättömäksi tietyn asian käsittelyn kannalta. Kaksi valiokuntaa tai useampi valiokunta voi myös pitää yhteisen kuulemistilaisuuden. Useimmat valiokunnat järjestävät säännöllisesti kuulemistilaisuuksia, sillä ne antavat mahdollisuuden kuulla asiantuntijoita ja käydä keskusteluja keskeisistä kysymyksistä. FEMM

The Committee on Gender Equality and Women's Rights (FEMM) will organize a hearing on “Sexual harassment in the EU institutions: follow-up of the EP resolution” on 9 November 2020 from 14.15-15.45 remotely.

AFCO JURI LIBE PETI

On 29 October 2020, a hearing on Union Citizenship will be jointly organised by the European Parliament (JURI, LIBE, AFCO and PETI Committees) and the European Commission. The hearing will see a keynote speech by Mr. Didier Reynders, Commissioner for Justice and the participation of the office of the European Ombudsman, as well as representatives from various NGOs.

FEMM AIDA

The Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM), in association with the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age (AIDA), will hold a public hearing on “Women and digitalisation” on 28 October 2020 between 14:15 - 15:45 remotely.

BECA FEMM

The Special Committee on Beating Cancer of the European Parliament (BECA), in association with the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) is organising a hearing on “Beating Breast Cancer: Challenges and opportunities” on Tuesday 27 October 2020 from 13.45 to 14.30, with remote participation.

PECH

The scope of the hearing is to identify concrete steps and relevant tools on how to achieve, under the current fishing regime, a recovery of endangered stocks, while safeguarding stock productivity and fleet profitability.

LIBE FEMM

A joint committee hearing on “Trafficking in human beings" will be organized by the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) and the Committee on Gender Equality and Women's Rights (FEMM) on 26 October 2020 from 17:30 – 18:45 remotely.

AGRI

The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development held a Public Hearing on the “Fruits, vegetables and wine market situation – the impact of the ”. The hearing was intended to address the impact on the agricultural market of the measures implemented to tackle the pandemic. Six experts on two separated panels delivered presentations, followed by Q&A sections, concerning the impact of European measures on wine, fruits and vegetables sectors.

INTA

On 12 October, the 5th INTA 'Trade Policy Day' is dedicated to a renewed EU trade policy after the COVID-19 pandemic. Executive Vice-President and new trade commissioner, V. Dombrovskis, will give a keynote speech. Then, Prof. Felbermayr, Kiel Institute, and Prof. Shapiro, UC Berkeley, will set the scene for a panel discussion on "what do stakeholders expect from Europe" featuring DG Trade’s Director General, Sabine Weyand, and representatives of EUROCHAMBRES, CLIENTEARTH and AMFORI.

ENVI

On Monday 12 October 2020, from 13.45 to 15.40, the ENVI held a public hearing on “Prospects and Perils for the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety in the Future EU-UK Relationship”. Committee Members heard from academic, NGO and industry experts about possible divergences between EU and UK standards in the areas of the environment, public health and food safety and consider policy measures that might be adopted to combat any adverse effects

AFCO

On 24 September 2020, the Committee on Constitutional Affairs will hold a public remote hearing on the 'Transnational lists and the Spitzenkandidaten principle', bringing together both internal and external experts who will discuss with AFCO Members the issues of transnational lists and the lead candidates system, based on lessons to be drawn from the last European elections and following inter-institutional nominations’ cycle.

ENVI ITRE

On Tuesday 22 September 2020, from 9.00 - 12.00, ENVI and ITRE held a joint public online hearing on the critical issue of "How to secure access to COVID-19 vaccines for EU citizens."

FEMM

On 21 September 2020, JURI and FEMM organized a joint hearing on the 'Women on Boards' proposal (2012/0299 (COD)). In November 2012, the Commission published a proposal for a directive on improving the gender balance among non-executive directors of companies listed on stock exchanges, commonly known as the ‘Women on Boards’ proposal. Parliament adopted its first reading position back in November 2013. However, the proposal is still awaiting Council’s first-reading position.
