Welcome to the website of the Committee on International Trade (INTA).

Here you will find meeting agendas and working documents, as well as details on on-going reports and hearings.

The European Parliament plays a decisive role in the definition of the Union's trade policy and acts as its democratic conscience. We evaluate all EU trade and investment agreements, scrutinise the Commission's work before the start of and during negotiations and co-decide on the legal framework in which trade takes place. Trade agreements and legal acts can only enter into force with the consent of the EP.

The Committee also leads the debate about the future shape of international trade and stands up for a rules-based trading order. It is equally important to review how trade and investment are implemented in practice.

In order to accomplish our task in a comprehensive and timely manner, we have formed mechanisms and working groups, which allow for in-depth scrutiny and frank discussions. Through our public meetings and deliberations, we aim to allow European citizens to follow trade policy and engage in the debate.
I look forward to continuing to push for an active role for the EP in shaping an EU trade policy that has fair trade, sustainability and the regulation of global value chains at its heart. Should you have any further questions about the Committee's work, please contact the Secretariat.
