The powers and responsibilities of our Committee include the following policy areas: the common agricultural policy (CAP), animal health and welfare, plant health, agricultural products quality, forestry and agroforestry.

In addition to its legislative work, our Committee monitors the implementation of the CAP, and other important issues such as food security. In this respect, it closely cooperates with the Commission, the Council, other EU Institutions, and stakeholders.

The AGRI Committee has 45 full members and 45 substitute members, all of them very committed to their work.
