A joint committee hearing on “Trafficking in human beings" was organized by the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) and the Committee on Gender Equality and Women's Rights (FEMM) on 26 October 2020 from 17:30 – 18:45 remotely.

This hearing was organized in relation to the joint LIBE-FEMM implementation report (2020/2029(INI)) on Directive 2011/36/EU on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings and protecting its victims that represents the main instrument for combating THB within the EU. This event represented an opportunity to hear several organizations' representatives and experts' contributions as regards the gaps in the present legislation and in the implementation of this directive and to look into which measures would be needed at EU and national levels to reinforce the application of the Directive.
