Work-Life Balance
In an EU facing demographic challenges, reconciliation of professional, private and family life needs to be guaranteed as a fundamental right for all people. Member States are invited to take up policies taking into account diverse families and to keep a life cycle approach. Measures of access to employment and care for dependants as well as protection against discrimination are necessary.
Main problematic areas are the lack of paid leave arrangements for fathers or insufficient incentives to use them and the lack of accessible, available and affordable quality care services.
