Dauguma komitetų rengia reguliarius klausymus, kadangi juose galima sužinoti ekspertų nuomonę ir aptarti pagrindinius klausimus. On 21 September 2020, JURI and FEMM organized a joint hearing on the 'Women on Boards' proposal (2012/0299 (COD)). In November 2012, the Commission published a proposal for a directive on improving the gender balance among non-executive directors of companies listed on stock exchanges, commonly known as the ‘Women on Boards’ proposal. Parliament adopted its first reading position back in November 2013. However, the proposal is still awaiting Council’s first-reading position.

In the context of the development of measures aimed at reconciling work and family life and following a decade of economic and financial crisis, it is essential to monitor the evolution of the labour and social situation of women in the EU. The hearing will have a double focus, examining two inter-related issues: unemployed young women and the women in precarious sectors who are at risk of poverty.

The aim of the hearing is to analyse the effectiveness of money spent on combating violence against women in the context of the EU accession to the Istanbul Convention. The event will count on the presentations of experts from the WAVE Network, the Global Alliance against Trafficking in Women (GAATW) and the European Women's Lobby.
