Komiteja var organizēt ekspertu uzklausīšanu, ja uzskata, ka tas ir vajadzīgs sekmīgai attiecīgā jautājuma izskatīšanai. Uzklausīšanu var rīkot kopīgi divas vai vairākas komitejas. Vairums komiteju organizē regulāras uzklausīšanas, jo tās sniedz iespēju uzklausīt ekspertu viedokli un apspriest svarīgākos jautājumus. Future, Europe

The proposed hearing will focus on the Future of Europe including the work of the Conference on the Future of Europe and the recently adopted Treaty Change Resolution by the European Parliament.

On 15th of February, the LIBE Committee organized the hearing ‘Democracy, the Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights in the EU: reinforcing inter-institutional dialogue and cooperation’. This hearing was meant to take stock of the existing toolkit of the EU institutions to ensure the upholding of the rule of law, as well as identify further avenues for improvement and cooperation.

The public hearing ‘The responsibilities of fossil fuel companies in the cost of living crisis’ focused on the impact of the war in Ukraine on energy prices and addressed the cost of living crisis and energy poverty in the EU, examining the alleged responsibilities fossil fuel companies bear in this regard.

FISC Hearing on Tackling Tax Obstacles in the Internal Market and the Role of Tax Policies in Promoting Economic Growth

On 13 February 2024, from 15:00 to 16:15, the FISC Subcommittee hosted a public hearing on “Tackling Tax Obstacles in the Internal Market and the Role of Tax Policies in Promoting Economic Growth”. Experts presented their views and discuss with FISC Members on how to address remaining tax-related obstacles and distortions in the Single Market.

Public Hearing on "Capital Gains Taxation in the EU"

On 23 January 2024, from 15:00 to 16:30, the FISC Subcommittee hosted a public hearing on “Capital Gains Taxation in the EU”. The purpose of the hearing was to discuss the potential risks posed by free movement of capital for aggressive tax planning and evasion and investigate potential measures at EU level to tackle this issue.

On Tuesday, 23 January 2024 a joint hearing on “The European Union’s Strategy in the Sahel” will be organised by the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Development and the Sub-Committee on Security and Defence. It will be an opportunity to critically reflect on the EU's policy and approach towards this important region in light of recent coup d’états.

On 7 December 2023, the FEMM committee will hold a hearing on "Gender Mainstreaming and EU climate policy".

Multigovernance

The aim of multilevel governance was to ensure that decisions are made collectively, with the participation of all levels of government and stakeholders, while strengthening both democratic representation and public trust in decision-making processes. The purpose of this hearing was to look into the role of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and to provide inputs on how to improve multilevel governance.
