The 140 projects were selected for funding via two competitive calls for proposals launched in October 2019 (regular CEF Transport call) and November 2019 (CEF Transport Blending Facility call). The EU's financial contribution, almost €2.2 billion, comes in the form of grants combined with additional financing from banks.

The Tourism Task Force held an exchange of views with key stakeholders. The aim was twofold: firstly, to take stock of the situation in which the EU tourism sector finds itself in light of the recovery process from the coronavirus crisis. Secondly, Members would seek input towards drawing up the own-initiative report “Establishing a Sustainable Tourism Strategy” for which Ms Claudia Monteiro De Aguiar (EPP) serves as Rapporteur.

The briefing provides an overview on the state of play and trends of urban transport since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It outlines four scenarios, the prevalence of one or the other depending on the priorities established by policy makers and service providers. The briefing delivers general recommendations for a post-COVID-19 smart and sustainable urban transport and a set of desirable actions on how to integrate EU response into existing policy priorities.

The TRAN Committee had invited the Director General of Eurocontrol, Mr Eamonn Brennan, to come to talk about the state of play of the European air traffic management, Eurocontrol's role in the future reform of the Single European Sky and, last but not least, the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the European air traffic network. The exchange of views took place on Wednesday afternoon, 2 September 2020 in room ANTALL 2Q2 from where it was webstreamed.

The aim of these two proposals is twofold: empowering France to negotiate a new international agreement with the UK, supplementing the previous one (Treaty of Canterbury), and maintaining the Intergovernmental Commission as the single national safety authority for the Eurotunnel, even after the UK has the status of a third country.

This Regulation lays down temporary rules on the levying of charges for the use of railway infrastructure. In order to counteract the negative economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, railway undertakings may need financial support. This Regulation introduces the possibility for Member States to authorise infrastructure managers to reduce, waive or defer the payment of the charges for accessing rail infrastructure for a limited period, meaning from 1 March 2020 until 31 December 2020.
