Trafficking in human beings is a human rights' violation and a major crime. It mainly affects women and girls. According to UNODC, 51% of trafficking victims are women and 28% are children - 71% of whom are girls. 54% of victims were trafficked for sexual exploitation.

Women and girls suffer this violence not just in conflict scenarios but also when they become migrants fleeing from them.
