Women in conflict-affected situations
Women, along with children, are one of the more vulnerable groups in conflict-affected situations. Conflict-related sexual violence is one of the most outrageous human rights violation. Women and girls suffer this violence not just in conflict scenarios but also when they become migrants fleeing from them.
On the other hand women represent a major driver in the prevention and resolution of conflicts, peace-building, and in post-conflict reconstruction. So women should equally participate in all efforts for the maintenance and promotion of peace and security.
