The WTO Appellate Body, which is part of the WTO dispute settlement, is in major crisis. On 10 December 2019, it will no longer be able to function, as the mandates of two of its three remaining members, out of seven, will expire. This can have major implications for the multilateral trading system.

Together with the former EU member on the Appellate body, Professor Peter Van den Bossche, DG TRADE Director-General Sabine Weyand and Chad Bown from the Peterson Institute, INTA will discuss the reasons behind the crisis and if there are ways to save the WTO Appellate Body.
