On 06.07.2020, the CONT Committee is organising a public hearing entitled 'Follow-up of OLAF case files, fighting fraud, corruption and other irregularities in the Member States'. This public hearing focuses on the follow-up of OLAF's recommendations and, in this regard, aims to present different views from the Member States' authorities.

On 11 June 2020, the CONT Committee organised a public hearing entitled 'Implementation of EU funds: towards more effective management and control systems under shared management (i.e risk assessment tools, conditionality and future role of EPPO)'. This hearing focused on the current situation concerning prevention and remedies of errors and fraud in shared management and discussed possible ways Member States and the Commission can respond to shortcomings in shared management.

CONT BUDG

The Committees on Budgets and Budgetary Control questioned the commissioner-designate on future budget policy and protecting the EU’s financial interests. Political groups’ coordinators and chairs from the two committees will meet within 24 hours to assess the performance of the Austrian Commissioner-designate Hahn.

On Monday 8 April 2019, the Committees Budgetary Control (CONT) and Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) have jointly organised a public hearing entitled ‘Combatting customs fraud’.

Members of the Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT) and in the Committee for Civil Liberties Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) held a hearing of the three candidates for the position European Chief Prosecutor, selected pursuant to Article 14 of the EPPO Regulation.
