Exchange of views with Ms Karliczek, Federal Minister of Education and Research

On 1 September, Ms Anja Karliczek, German Federal Minister of Education and Research presented to ITRE the priorities of the German Presidency of the Council in the field of research and innovation.

Many of the issues that the Presidency has chosen focus on, ranging from dealing with the Coronovirus pandemic and its fallout to strengthening Europe's digital and technological sovereignty, imply a solid investment in research and innovation. The adoption of Horizon Europe, together with its budget breakdown is, therefore, expected to be the number one priority of the German presidency in this area.
