Vote on the decision to enter into interinstitutional negotiations on MFF files
05-06-2020 - 09:34
On 4 June the ITRE Committee voted on the decision to enter into interinstitutional negotiations for five MFF files where ITRE is the lead committee. ITRE largely finalised the negotiations on the MFF programmes within its remit at the end of the last parliamentary term and had these partial agreements approved as Parliament's first reading positions in April 2019.
In order to restart trilogues once there is an agreement on the overall MFF, the rules of procedure foresee a committee vote confirming the first reading as the Parliament's negotiating mandate. The legislation needs to be finalised as soon as possible in order to ensure that the new programmes can start without delays on 1 January 2021.
