2019 Commission Discharge: Exchange of views with Directors General

On 01.10.2020, the Budgetary Control Committee held exchanges of views on the 2019 annual activity reports, and in particular on the reservations issued in those reports by the Commission Directorates-General with: DG Research, DG EMPL, DG HOME, DG AGRI, DG REGIO and DG BUDG. At the end of the year, all departments draft an annual activity report on their achievements, initiatives taken and the financial and human resources spent during the year.
Directors General are the authorizing officer by delegation for their respective administrative body. They authorize all payments and certify that all spending was legal and regular. They may issue reservations when they have doubts about the legality and regularity of certain financial transactions.
