26th meeting of the JPC EU-Chile, 25 & 26 June 2018, Brussels

The 26th meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) EU-Chile took place in Brussels on 25 and 26 June 2018, with Constanze Krehl (European Parliament) and Pablo Lorenzini (Chamber of the Chilean Congress) presiding.

The agenda covered the following topics:

- State of play of the modernisation of the EU-Chile Association Agreement;
- The new Government of Chile: main policies and goals;
- Political and economic situation in the European Union and Chile;
- Women's rights;
- Crypto currencies.

At the end of the meeting, a joint declaration signed by the 2 co-chairs was issued (see link below).

25th meeting of the JPC EU-Chile, 22 and 23 January 2018, Santiago de Chile

The 25th meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on 22 and 23 January 2018 in Santiago de Chile, with Constanze Krehl (European Parliament) and Isabel Allende (Chilean Congress) presiding.

Amongst other topics, the agenda covered:
  • political and economic situation in the European Union and Chile;
  • process of the modernisation of the EU-Chile Association Agreement;
  • energy cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, a joint declaration signed by the 2 co-chairs was issued.

23rd meeting of the JPC EU-Chile, 3 November 2016, Santiago de Chile

The delegations of the National Congress of Chile and the European Parliament, comprising the European Union-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), headed by the Co-Chairs, Mr Pablo LORENZINI, Member of Congress, and Ms Constanze KREHL MEP, pursuant to the Rules of Procedure of the JPC and Article 9 of the EU-Chile Association Agreement, signed in 2002, issued a joint declaration in Santiago de Chile.

24th meeting of the JPC EU-Chile, 4 May 2017, Brussels

The 24th meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on 4 May 2017 in Brussels, with Constanze Krehl (European Parliament component) and Isabel Allende (Chilean Congress component) presiding.

Amongst other topics, the agenda covered:
  • political and economic situation in the European Union and Chile;
  • process of updating the EU-Chile Association Agreement;
  • integration initiatives in the area of Asia-Pacific Region and its consequences for the EU-Chile bilateral trade relationship;
  • the triangular co-operation in the framework of the modernised EU-Chile Association Agreement.

22nd meeting of the JPC EU-Chile, 25-26 April 2016, Brussels

The 22nd meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on 25-26 April 2016 in Brussels, with Constanze Krehl presiding.

Amongst other topics, the agenda covered:
  • political and economic situation in the European Union and Chile
  • cooperation in the field of security and defence
  • modernisation of the EU-Chile Association Agreement
  • the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP): challenges and opportunities for the EU-Chile bilateral trade relationship
  • the implementation of the principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Chile

21st meeting of the JPC EU-Chile, 15 November 2015, Santiago de Chile

The 21st meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on 15 November 2015 in Santiago de Chile, with Constanze Krehl (EP, S&D) and Isabel Allende (Chilean Senator) presiding.

Amongst other topics, the agenda covered:

  • political and economic situation in the European Union and Chile, including the main political, social and economic reforms implemented recently in Chile;
  • EU-Chile Association Agreement: current state of play and prospects for modernising the Agreement;
  • migration: Challenges and opportunities arising from the recent migration flows;
  • cooperation in the field of corporate social responsibility.
At the end of the meeting, a joint declaration signed by the 2 co-chairs was issued.

20th meeting of the JPC EU-Chile, 27 January 2015, Brussels

The 20th meeting of the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on 27 January 2017 in Brussels, with Constanze Krehl (EP, S&D) and Pablo Lorenzini (Chilean Deputy) presiding.

The agenda covered the following topics:
  • political and economic situation in the European Union and Chile,
  • EU-Chile Association Agreement: current state of play and prospects for modernising the Agreement,
  • EU and Chile and the bi-regional agenda: 2nd EU-CELAC Summit; EULAC Foundation; investment; migration,
  • presentation, by Mr Rafael Dochao, Head of the EU Delegation to Chile, of the concrete actions of the EU-Chile Strategy for 2015,
  • law on transparency and regulation of lobbying organisations.
At the end of the meeting, a joint declaration signed by the 2 co-chairs was issued.
