J'ai voté en faveur du projet de résolution. Je me réjouis de l'avancement des négociations entre le Royaume-Uni et l'Union européenne, notamment autour de la question des droits des citoyens, du volet financier et de la situation géographique de l'Irlande. Nous pouvons désormais entamer le deuxième volet des négociations, toujours dans l'optique de trouver un terrain d'entente qui soit favorable aux deux parties.

Chaque année, 3 100 milliards d'euros sont perdus en raison de l'évasion et des évitements fiscaux. C'est considérable. Je me félicite donc de l'adoption d'un tel rapport car je souhaite vivement que les acteurs de l'Union mettent tous leurs moyens disponibles pour lutter contre la fraude fiscale.

Chaque année, le Parlement européen établit un rapport d'initiative sur la mise en œuvre de la politique de sécurité et de défense commune. J'ai voté en faveur du texte. Le rapport alerte sur la menace terroriste toujours plus grandissante qui pèse sur notre continent car j’estime que le terrorisme est l’un des principaux défis en matière de sécurité intérieure de l'Union. Aussi, je pense que même si l'Union doit encore approfondir le partenariat transatlantique, il n'en demeure pas moins qu'elle doit se recentrer sur la création de ses propres capacités afin de répondre aux défis régionaux et internationaux qui ont des répercussions directes sur nos territoires.
