EU-NATO relations (A8-0188/2018 - Ioan Mircea Paşcu) SV

13-06-2018

Combating anti-semitism (B8-0383/2017, B8-0388/2017)

01-06-2017

. – For all of my life, I have been a consistent anti-racist. Combating racial hatred and prejudice is the backbone of my political struggle. It defines my political life and me. I have made an effort to speak up against all kinds of racism. However, being half-Roma and half-Jewish, contending anti-Gypsyism and anti-Semitism has been at the forefront of my personal resistance. However, I cannot bring myself to vote for a definition of anti-Semitism that puts into question free speech on the state of Israel. The tragic and complex conflict between Israelis and Palestinians in the Middle East must not be allowed to contaminate the equally important debate on anti-Semitism in Europe. Politicising the struggle against anti-Semitism will not help us unite against racism.

Written questions

Members can submit a specific number of questions to the President of the European Council, the Council, the Commission and the Vice-President of the Commission/High Representative of the Union, for written answer. Rule 138, Annex III
