Rakstiski balsojumu skaidrojumi Roberta METSOLA

Deputāti var iesniegt rakstisku skaidrojumu par savu balsojumu plenārsēdē. 194. pants

2020. gada vispārējā budžeta grozījuma Nr. 5 projekts "Atbalsta turpināšana bēgļiem un uzņēmējkopienām, reaģējot uz Sīrijas krīzi Jordānijā, Libānā un Turcijā" (A9-0127/2020 - Monika Hohlmeier) EN

10-07-2020

I voted in favour of this report. The European Union has pledged to provide EUR 100 million to refugees and host communities in Jordan and Lebanon and EUR 543 million appropriated to ensure the continuation of urgent humanitarian support to refugees in Turkey. The EU needs to work with its neighbours in order to create legal pathways for those seeking to flee war or instability.

Neparedzēto izdevumu rezerves izmantošana 2020. gadā, lai turpinātu humāno palīdzību bēgļiem Turcijā (A9-0125/2020 - Monika Hohlmeier) EN

10-07-2020

I voted in favour of this report. The Union' external border with Turkey faces mounting pressure from incoming migrants It is therefore in the EU's interest to work with our neighbour to ensure that the proper border controls are in place for security purposes, while ensuring that refugees are able to exercise their rights as such in these situations.

Iebildumu izteikšana saskaņā ar Reglamenta 112. panta 2. un 3. punktu: aktīvās vielas, tostarp flumioksazīns (B9-0203/2020) EN

10-07-2020

I voted in favour of this objection. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) concluded already in 2014, and subsequently in 2017 and 2018, that there were critical areas of concern when flumioxazine is used under certain conditions.

Vispusīga Eiropas pieeja enerģijas uzglabāšanai (A9-0130/2020 - Claudia Gamon) EN

10-07-2020

I voted in favour of this report. The Green Deal presents many opportunities and challenges, including how to decarbonise the EU economy while it is predicted that elecricity demand will more than double by 2050. We therefore want to encourage higher use and supply of renewable energy sources, so that constant electricity supply can be secured while the EU reaches its target of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.

ES un Jaunzēlandes nolīguma, par kuru norit sarunas, noslēgšana par personas datu apmaiņu cīņai pret smagiem noziegumiem un terorismu (A9-0131/2020 - Annalisa Tardino) EN

10-07-2020

I voted in favour of this report. Terrorism, cybercrime, and organised crime cannot be fought by a country or region alone, but require a global effort to combat them. It is for this reason that cooperation with New Zealand in the field of law enforcement will provide security for Europeans and Kiwis alike, while better cross-border information exchange will enhance our fight against serious crime and terrorism.

Ilgtspēju sekmējoša stratēģija attiecībā uz ķimikālijām (B9-0222/2020) EN

10-07-2020

I voted in favour. I stand with the majority in the European Parliament calling on the Commission to come up with a new chemicals strategy for sustainability that ensures a high level of protection to the environment. The Commission's strategy should seek to minimise our environment's exposure to hazardous chemicals, and that of more vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and pregnant women.

Pārejas noteikumi nolūkā risināt Covid-19 krīzes ietekmi (Regulas (ES) 2016/1628 grozīšana) (C9-0161/2020) EN

10-07-2020

I voted in favour. The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted supply chains and halted progress on some of the Union's key Green Deal targets. Non-road machinery manufacturers (NRMM) were set to achieve the targets of 'Stage V', reducing the current emissions of air pollutants from engines for NRMM. In light of the disruptions caused by the pandemic, the dates for producing and placing of the market of NRMM is postponed by twelve months.

Visaptveroša Savienības politika nelikumīgi iegūtu līdzekļu legalizācijas un terorisma finansēšanas novēršanai — Komisijas Rīcības plāns un nesenā notikumu attīstība (B9-0207/2020) EN

I voted in favour of this resolution. There should be zero tolerance for money laundering in the European Union and all of its Member states. For over three decades, the EU has continuously designed and implemented a solid regulatory framework for preventing and combatting money laundering and terrorist financing. We need to continue strengthening the EU anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism frameworks while protecting whistle blowers.

Eiropas pilsoņu iniciatīva: pagaidu pasākumi attiecībā uz vākšanas, verifikācijas un izskatīšanas posmu termiņiem, ņemot vērā Covid-19 uzliesmojumu (C9-0142/2020 - Loránt Vincze) EN

. ‒ I voted in favour. The European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) is a participatory democracy instrument that depends on engagement of citizens across the EU. In light of the unforeseeable COVID-19 pandemic, the lockdowns led to a near standstill of public life. This has made it nearly impossible for organisers of the ECI to continue their local campaigning activities. It is therefore only fair that we extend the collection periods for these initiatives, so that we can give citizens a real chance to participate in the ECI.

09-07-2020

I voted in favour of this report. The date of application of the VAT e-commerce Directive was orginally set for 1 January 2021. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the concern of Member States was to protect their people and therefore funds had to be reshuffled. This means that countries can no longer commit to honouring the original application date of this package and that a postponement is needed.
