Ex-ante impact assessment in the European Commission’s new Better Regulation Guidelines: Better Law-Making in Action

This briefing note seeks to provide a short overview of some of the main changes introduced by the new Guidelines in the ex-ante impact assessment process. It does so both from a general point of view and then with regard to the formal presentation of the IA Report accompanying every legislative initiative subject to ex-ante impact assessment. Unless otherwise stated, references are to the Better Regulation Guidelines and Toolbox.
