Sport je oblastí, v níž EU nabyla pravomocí poměrně nedávno, a sice se vstupem Lisabonské smlouvy v platnost v prosinci 2009. EU je zodpovědná za rozvoj politiky vycházející z faktů, pěstování spolupráce a řízení iniciativ na podporu fyzických aktivit a sportu v celé Evropě. V rámci programu Erasmus+ na období 2014–2020 byla poprvé vytvořena zvláštní rozpočtová položka na podporu projektů a sítí v oblasti sportu.

Kultura

Činnost Evropské unie v oblasti kultury doplňuje kulturní politiku členských států v různých oblastech, k nimž patří například ochrana evropského kulturního dědictví, spolupráce kulturních institucí různých zemí a podpora volného pohybu tvůrčích pracovníků. Na kulturní odvětví mají vliv i ustanovení Smluv, která se kulturou výslovně nezabývají.

Audiovizuální politika v EU je upravena v článku 167 a 173 Smlouvy o fungování Evropské unie. Klíčovým právním předpisem v této oblasti je směrnice o audiovizuálních mediálních službách, která byla přepracována v roce 2018. Hlavním nástrojem EU k podpoře tohoto odvětví (zejména filmového průmyslu) je dílčí program MEDIA, který je součástí programu „Kreativní Evropa“. Listina základních práv Evropské unie vyžaduje, aby byla respektována „svoboda a pluralita sdělovacích prostředků“.

Komunikační politika

Nutnost efektivní komunikace má právní základ v Listině základních práv Evropské unie, která zaručuje všem občanům EU právo na informace o záležitostech EU. Orgány EU vyvinuly pro styk a informování veřejnosti několik nástrojů a služeb. Od svého oficiálního zahájení v roce 2012 umožňuje evropská občanská iniciativa občanům bezprostředněji se zapojit do tvorby nových právních předpisů a do záležitostí EU.

This study analyses the so far effects of the crisis on the CCS, as well as the policy responses that are formulated to support the sectors.
