EU policy on endocrine disruptors

Endocrine disruptors (EDs) are substances that disturb the functioning of hormones, and are associated with various human health problems, including reduced fertility and reproductive abnormalities. EDs can act at very low doses and are especially dangerous during pregnancy and in infancy.

This report summarises the presentations and discussions at the Workshop on Endocrine Disruptors and Health, held at the European Parliament in Brussels, on Tuesday 18 September 2012. The aim of the workshop was to better understand the impacts of endocrine disruptors on health and to provide input into the ongoing policy discussions at EU-level.
