This paper first presents key indicators on employment and poverty for Roma communities in Slovakia and reviews existing social and employment policies. Second, it discusses the situation of Roma children in education. Third, the paper presents achievements and lessons learned from the use of EU funds for marginalised communities and, finally, it reviews the work of other organisations in assessing the situation of Roma people in Slovakia.

The note provides a summary of key findings from the study of the labour market and social situation in Germany including major trends, policy responses and challenges for the future. The note covers aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Measuring poverty is complex and a number of indicators are now used to try to give a comprehensive picture. A composite measure – 'at risk of poverty or social exclusion' (AROPE) – is used today to measure progress on the Europe 2020 anti-poverty target.
