Die Kommission hat vorgeschlagen, die Richtlinie 2004/37/EG über den Schutz der Arbeitnehmer gegen Gefährdung durch Karzinogene oder Mutagene bei der Arbeit (Richtlinie über Karzinogene und Mutagene) zu ändern, indem ihr Geltungsbereich erweitert wird und für 13 Karzinogene und Mutagene Expositionsgrenzwerte am Arbeitsplatz eingeführt bzw. die bestehenden Werte geändert werden. Das Parlament wird im Rahmen der Plenartagung Oktober II über diesen Vorschlag abstimmen.
