Die Konferenz zur Zukunft Europas ist ein nach dem Bottom-up-Ansatz geführter Prozess, in dessen Rahmen europäische Bürger ihre Meinung zu den künftigen politischen Strategien und zur künftigen Arbeitsweise der Union äußern können. Durch Instrumente wie die digitale Plattform und Bürgerforen wird die Erörterung von Themen ermöglicht, die den Bürgern wichtig sind. Diese EPRS-Infografik veranschaulicht die Konferenzstrukturen und ihre Arbeitsweise sowie die Themen, die erörtert werden.

Während der November-I-Plenartagung soll das Parlament über eine Entschließung abstimmen, die darauf abzielt, Demokratie sowie Freiheit und Pluralismus der Medien in der Europäischen Union zu stärken. In der Entschließung wird ein umgehendes – sowohl legislatives als auch nichtlegislatives – Handeln eingefordert, um gegen das Problem von strategischen Klagen gegen öffentliche Beteiligung (SLAPP-Klagen) vorzugehen.
