European Lifelong Guidance Policies, New Skills Agenda and Europass Revision: State of Play

This note gives an overview of the concept of lifelong guidance and the role of career guidance in relevant Council Recommendations and Resolutions adopted by the European Parliament in the fields of education and employment policies. It presents cooperation structures in the field of guidance (European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network, Euroguidance). Further, it discusses possible implications of the New Skills Agenda for future European cooperation in lifelong guidance policies with a particular view to the revision of the Europass framework. The note has been prepared by Policy Department A for the Employment and Social Affairs Committee.
