Better regulation principles call for a smart approach to the Single CMO proposal based on the extension of rules and the promotion of compatible practices like codes of conduct, standards contracts, quality schemes or price observatories. Furthermore, there should be more emphasis given to encouraging a consistent and unique interpretation of EU Competition Law since the overall picture reflects a heterogeneity of national decisions concerning the Internal Market.
