En previsión del aumento del flujo de viajeros y en respuesta a las preocupaciones sobre seguridad expresadas por los Estados miembros de la UE, la Comisión Europea presentó un paquete sobre fronteras inteligentes en 2013, que consistía en tres propuestas legislativas con el objetivo de que los procedimientos de control en las fronteras resulten más rápidos y fiables mediante la aplicación de tecnologías avanzadas interconectadas en todo el espacio Schengen.

This study on planning and implementing major projects in transport infrastructure takes into consideration the experiences in several EU Member States (France, Germany, Greece, Portugal and the United Kingdom). It analyses how decision-making and implementation of transport infrastructure projects can be improved in terms of time, cost and transparency.
