En febrero de 2022, la Comisión Europea presentó una propuesta de Reglamento sobre normas armonizadas para un acceso justo a los datos y su utilización (Ley de Datos). La Comisión de Industria, Investigación y Energía (ITRE) del Parlamento Europeo aprobó su informe sobre dicha ley en febrero de 2023.
