Euroopa Regioonide Komitee koosneb 350 liikmest, kes esindavad Euroopa Liidu 28 liikmesriigi piirkondlikke ja kohalikke omavalitsusi. Komitee esitab arvamuse aluslepingutes sätestatud kohustusliku konsulteerimise ja vabatahtliku konsulteerimise juhtudel ning vajaduse korral omal algatusel. Komitee liikmeid ei seo mingid kohustuslikud juhised. Euroopa Liidu üldistes huvides on nad oma kohustuste täitmisel sõltumatud.

In its November 2014 Investment Plan for Europe, the Commission announced the establishment of a new European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), to bridge the EU investment gap.
