Lors de la plénière de juin, le Parlement prévoit d’examiner le rapport de la commission de l’agriculture et du développement rural (AGRI) intitulé «Garantir la sécurité alimentaire et la résilience à long terme de l’agriculture de l’UE». Il votera également sur les recommandations stratégiques en matière de sécurité alimentaire européenne et mondiale et de renforcement de la résilience de l’agriculture de l’Union.

En juin 2021, la Commission européenne a dévoilé sa vision pour déterminer comment stimuler le développement des zones rurales de l’Union d’ici à 2040. Le Parlement européen a décidé d’élaborer un rapport d’initiative à ce sujet. Le rapport de la commission de l’agriculture et du développement rural (AGRI) du Parlement doit être mis aux voix lors de la séance plénière de décembre.
